Once there was a King who was so cruel and unjust that people in his kingdom yearned for his death.
However, surprisingly one day he announced that, He decided to turn over a new leaf.
With this announcement he promised, No more cruelty and injustice.
The King kept his words and began to be known as ‘GENTLE MONARCH’.

Months after this surprising change, a minister from his court plucked up all his courage and asked the king, What had brought this change of Heart in him.
The King answered:“One day I was going through the forest and there I caught sight of a Fox being chased by a Hound. That fox was able to escape to his hole but before he escaped, the Hound had bitten into its legs and lamed it for rest of his life.
Later when I was going through the village and saw the same hound there. There the hound was barking at a man. Getting irritated by it the man picked up a huge stone and threw it at the hound, breaking its leg.
After going a little farther I saw that same man had not gotten far and was kicked by a horse. This kick broke his knee and the man fell to ground disabled for rest of his life. After kicking the man the horse began to run but fell into a hole and broke its legs.
Reflecting on all that had happened,I thought,'Evil begets Evil'. If I continue in my evil ways, I will surely be overtaken by Evil. So I decided to change”.

After listening to king’s answer the minister went away convinced that it was time to overthrow the king and seize the throne. Immersed in thought, the Minister did not see the step in front of him and fell, breaking his neck.
